At Shine, we want to give tweens the opportunity to enjoy the offerings of a creative summer day camp while also tasking them with regularly helping out in our junior programs. We hope the experience will provide leadership and life skill opportunities that prepare tweens to become staff members at camp, as well as productive members of their home community.

“I had the pleasure of meeting Aaron, the director, at a birthday party my friend had him organize for her son in the city. From the moment we met, it was clear he was born to work with kids. His vibrant personality, humor, and entertaining nature instantly won over my children. They adored him, and honestly, so did I!
SHINE Camp is a hidden gem that my kids (2.5 and 5) absolutely loved. Each day, they came home with the most amazing and creative art projects – the kind you actually want to hang up, not hide away. Aaron and his team know how to keep things fresh and exciting with fun and educational activities, plus amazing field trips that make every day an adventure. What really stands out is how SHINE Camp perfectly balances fun and learning, creating an environment where kids are excited to explore and grow.
If you’re looking for a camp that will truly engage and delight your kids, and that they are excited to go to every day, SHINE Camp is it. Your kids will thank you!”
“This camp stands head and shoulders above the others in the region, not only for the inventiveness of the projects but also for professionalism of staff, the small size of it, the exposure to real art, and the general vibe of centering kindness and respect.”
“From the enthusiastic good morning to the happy good byes, camp was a very sweet and magical place for them. I particularly loved having two siblings together at the same camp. My children were very happy with the crafts, outdoor time, and most importantly the gardening they did all summer. Since the group size was intimate, by the end of our month… my two were very sad to leave both their teachers and new friends. Shine is a wonderful camp that speaks outside of the common NYC camps. It is thoughtful and caters to each individual child while maintaining the complexity of the group as a whole. My children both asked me well into the winter if they could return to Shine this coming summer. I wholeheartedly endorse this camp as a wonderful environment for children.”
“Aaron’s Shine summer camp is full of fun and perfect for our little girl. She is one of the youngest in her group and was very well taken care of. Our girl left the camp with long standing friendship and fond memories. The staff is warm, experienced and flexible and the program well thought out. It’s a perfect balance between indoor and outdoor activities.”
